NATUREKO CASE: INTEGRATED B2B & B2C WEB STORE

Recently, we had the pleasure of launching a new web store for Natureko Biodisposables, supplier of sustainable disposables to wholesale customers and consumers. Natureko asked us to improve their online store, having a better findability, higher conversion and a more positive shopping experience for their customers as their main goals.

They also wanted to set up a connection between their Magento store and their ERP system Dynamics NAV, making it easier to synchronise products, prices, customers and orders between the two systems. A great assignment!

The client
Natureko, a young and upcoming company from Waddinxveen, imports biobased and compostable disposables, offering an environmentally friendly alternative to plastic disposables. Natureko is mainly active in food service and sets itself apart with its fair trade products, personal service, a wide range of products and fast delivery from stock.

The web store
An extensive briefing led to a functional design for the new web store that was based on a standard Magento environment, complemented with a number of custom adjustments. For instance, Natureko wanted to offer the possibility of requesting quotes for personalised printed products, such as sustainable coffee cups with a company’s own logo, or biodegradable bags with a personal text.

We created different category pages on which you can filter on material (banana leaf, sugar cane, cardboard, etc.), on product type (such as cutlery, crockery and stationery), and of course on price range.

The design of the store was also important to our client. We made a fresh and contemporary design according to Natureko’s corporate identity, that is perfectly complemented by the great images that the client provided.

B2B customisations
Natureko focuses mainly on the wholesale customer. Since Magento is primarily a B2B web store platform, some custom functionalities were needed.

One of the things we did was set up a wholesale environment (b2b.natureko.nl) next to the consumer shop, displaying wholesale quantities and prices.

Customer-specific prices and discounts are also taken into account in this store. We have enabled this by setting up MCONNECT, our extension that synchronises data between Magento and ERP system Dynamics NAV. All prices and discounts are imported into the store, so that the customer immediately sees the correct prices after logging in.

The synchronised data also includes wholesale order lists, customer-specific shipping agreements and other customer and item information.

Further development
Often after launching a new website, new and additional requirements pop up, which is only logical: your web store is never ‘finished’. The same goes for Natureko: we continue to work on new functionalities, minor tweaks and are discussing possible future improvements with the client. It is already a great web store, which will only get better!
