SALO focuses on providing exclusive benefits, fast delivery and competitive prices for installers through collaboration and membership models, on a non-profit basis. For the design, we worked with our designer, who developed the new layout in Figma. My SALO and the catalogue received the most attention in the process. In My SALO, customers can track all their shipments live. The catalogue loads dynamically via Tweakwise\u2019s category merchandiser module, which makes searching for products easier, and shows real-time stock per branch. The integrations with AX, Akeneo and Tweakwise remained intact, so that the processes SALO was already used to simply continued.<\/span><\/p><h2><b>The result<\/b><\/h2><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A fresh webshop on Hyv\u00e4 Commerce: a modern, light front-end for Magento 2 that loads faster and is easier to customise than the standard Magento theme, without the need to rebuild existing integrations.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Track live shipments in My SALO via Track-POD<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Navigate the catalogue more easily thanks to Tweakwise\u2019s category merchandiser module.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Real-time inventory per branch.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Go live during the construction holiday, as planned, without disruption to the order process.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5f97b9d elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"5f97b9d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3d1f79e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3d1f79e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><em><strong>\u2013 April 2025<\/strong><\/em><\/p><h1><strong>Hosting at Hypernode<\/strong><\/h1><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2022, Ecomwise worked on a new webshop for SALO. During this process, we worked together with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hypernode.com\/nl\/\">Hypernode<\/a> looked at the best hosting options. In this, we chose Hypernode's dedicated servers. The goal? Speed; thanks to Hypernode's high-performance infrastructure, SALO's website soon benefited from fast load times and a smooth user experience.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But the success didn't stop there. In 2024, SALO went one step further by moving to a new server farm within the Team.blue group-a move that would further improve website performance with even more powerful hardware. This collaboration between Ecomwise, SALO and Hypernode resulted in huge performance improvements and a website that now runs faster than ever.<\/span><\/p><h2><b>Issue<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The team knew that improving speed and reducing load times were essential to keep users engaged and improve conversion rates. However, the biggest challenge was ensuring continuity during the migration process-particularly minimising downtime and ensuring the smoothest possible transition to the new infrastructure.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We worked closely with Hypernode to ensure a seamless migration that would not disrupt SALO's business operations. The main challenge was to ensure that the migration would have little to no impact on the user experience.<\/span><\/p><h2><b>Our solution<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To meet these needs, Hypernode offered dedicated servers with robust performance optimisations. Initially, this involved adding some types of caching and optimising modules using Blackfire to achieve significant speed improvements. But the real breakthrough came in 2024, when Hypernode introduced a new server farm within the Team.blue group. These servers feature newer hardware with faster CPUs, which resulted in even better website performance. Thanks to the new hardware and ongoing improvements in the Hypernode environment, SALO's website saw dramatic improvements in PHP processing speed and page load times, resulting in a faster and more reliable experience for visitors.<\/span><\/p><h2><b>Implementation<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The migration process was carefully planned to ensure a smooth transition, with minimal downtime. We worked closely with Hypernode to set up a proof of concept, which was effectively a copy of SALO's production environment on the new server. This allowed the team to carry out thorough testing before the actual migration, including load testing, speed testing and functionality testing. Once everything was running smoothly, we coordinated with Hypernode and the customer to schedule the migration. The team managed to achieve minimal downtime-only 15 minutes! -and the migration was completed without a hitch.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Careful preparation, combined with Hypernode's reliable infrastructure, ensured that the entire process went off without a hitch.<\/span><\/p><h2><b>The result<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since the migration, SALO's website has experienced measurable improvements in performance, with much faster load times and significantly improved PHP processing. These changes have not only made the website more efficient, but also contributed to an overall better user experience, keeping customers happy and engaged. The approach of testing and optimising before migration, combined with Hypernode's infrastructure, ensured that user experience was improved for SALO.
