The issue
AHZ had two custom-developed software solutions: AHZ Order and
Web viewer. These systems were originally developed by a former
employee, so there was limited knowledge available within the current team for
maintenance and further development. Moreover, the systems were outdated and did not offer
the user-friendliness and modern look appropriate to today's digital
standards.
The challenge for AHZ was to implement a future-proof solution that:
- Easy to manage.
- Providing users with a modern, intuitive experience.
- Seamlessly integrate with their ERP system, Microsoft Business Central.
- Expandable for future developments and additional functionalities.
Our solution
The existing systems were replaced by a single central environment built on
Magento, a proven and robust e-commerce platform. This provided AHZ with a solid foundation that
easy to manage and build on. The solution was rolled out in two phases:
Phase 1: Replacing the current systems with a basic environment, which will allow the
primary processes are directly supported.
Phase 2: Further optimisation and expansion with customised functionalities.
A strong link to Microsoft Business Central was an essential part of the
implementation. In addition, specific features were added, such as:
- Umbrella accounts: Allows master accounts to access historical information from
view underlying accounts, including open orders and back orders
within an organisation. - Sales agent module: Allows specially configured accounts to place orders
places for multiple other accounts, making for a more efficient ordering process
within large organisations. - Assignment of a responsible person within AHZ: An internal administrator was
designated to the B2B portal maintain and further optimise.
The result
The new system not only meets all original project requirements, but offers
also additional benefits through the implementation of Hyvä, a modern front-end technology
for Magento. As a result, the ordering application not only has a modern look and feel, but is

Thanks to integration with Microsoft Business Central, users now always have access to
up-to-date information on stocks, orders and backorders. In addition,
employees no longer have to log into two different systems, which improves workflow
significantly more efficient.
